Dealing India is an online platform where anyone in nation can buy or sell their products without giving any kind of commission or subscription charges. It’s issued in public interest. Whole project is designed and developed by me only.
Dealing India is an innovative project of my own. It's me trying to do something different and making something very demanding. It took me 3 months to figure the idea on my bucket and I started working on the concept. I took advice from many currently working professionals in this domain (online retail stores) and discussed about my thoughts.
The main concept of Dealing India is to provide a free platform to the normal people who want to sell their products online but restricting themselves because of huge charges offered by other websites present in the market. So here comes Dealing India with 0% commission and no subscription charges.
I started with the logo. I believe that the first impression is made by the Logo and the name of the brand. I wanted to have something more patriotic and more idea conveying. The company is about something trade, deals, selling, shops and of course it is only for India. I analysed other big brands and concluded a concept that by adding word “INDIA” in your brand, adds trust factor of the natives. Like brands, Amul has tag line Taste of India, India mart, trade India use the word India to gain trust of the people. I think it’s in the psychology. So I came up with the idea and started searching the domains regarding these keywords. At last after thousands of searches I get soared with name “Dealing India”.
The next task is Logo designing. I sketched out a bunch of ideas for the logo symbol, concentrating on the Dealing and India. At last I reached the milestone with the perfect idea.
I went for clean and crisp typography, using Source Sans Pro throughout in varying shades of back and grey. The business card design (above right) was clean and simple, printed on classic thick matte stock, which went prefect. Icons were designed by having the colour scheme in the mind. They are sleek and thin adding more professionalism to the brand.
A prototype is basically a simulation of the final product. Prototypes are great because they’re a cheap and quick way of testing whether your idea will actually work, before investing time and money into building it. I created a quick prototype using Invision.
"Design is not how it looks but design is how it works" a great quote said by Steve jobs. I tried my best to make a fluent and more user friendly design. The purpose of the website is to convey the message of your brain to the user. The first step of the website it to display the products and following big task is to register Seller so they can also sell their products by making their shops.
The Home page is fully responsive and conveying the message as best as it can. It contains total 8 sections starting from slider and ends at Blog section. On the top of slider, there is a 3 variable filter search engine where user can search any product by Keyword, particular location, particular category or all the three.
Example is shown in the image that how search has been made by keyword (gadgets) in New Delhi in Electronic Appliances Section. This brings out best results and more favourable for the user.
This is the trickiest part in the whole project, which has to have the fast sign up and shop creation. There will be two types of users, one is registered and other is non-registered. When a registered user go to sell page and try to sell their product, they have to enter the OTP which they receive on their registered email.
In contrary, when unregistered users go to sell page and upload their product, they don’t have to register first as they can directly upload products and their online shop will be automatically created alongside.
When user go to sell page and when the uploading process starts, people don’t have to signup first in case they are unregistered user, they can directly upload products as they will be registered automatically. This approach is new to this project and one of the sparking features of it. When people on the action page and immediately they are redirected to the sign u page. They usually do not sign up or end up with closing the window. So to prevent this action, I went with this approach to automatically register the user and make their online virtual shop.
I’ve just taken you through one iteration of my design thinking process. This is the way I work and make things happen in real world brought up from my mind. Even I’m still working somehow on this project to make it more innovative and more famous ofcourse.
